How we evaluate

Our research approach, evidence standards and editorial limits.

Blanket Compass publishes research-led blanket guides. Our current articles use manufacturer information, relevant primary guidance and original buying worksheets. We have not slept under, washed or measured the products in this library.

What we check

We identify the model and record the specifications relevant to the decision: composition, construction, dimensions, care and any selected variant. A source check date records when we reviewed the information; it is not a hands-on test date. Missing details stay marked as unresolved.

How we distinguish evidence

Manufacturer specifications describe what the seller lists. Marketing claims describe what the seller promises. Our analysis explains the practical questions those details raise. None of these automatically becomes an independently measured result. We keep an internal source record so facts can be checked again before publication.

How candidates enter a shortlist

We organize candidates by use and documented fit rather than commission or invented scores. We consider whether coverage and care are practical and explain material trade-offs. A research candidate may remain in an article with clear gaps; its inclusion does not mean we have approved it as a best buy.

What a hands-on review would require

A hands-on label would require an identified tester, the exact sample, use dates, a documented method and original observations. Washing, dimensions and comfort would be reported as distinct findings, with the conditions and limits of the work. We would disclose any supplied sample or commercial relationship.

Affiliate links and editorial decisions

Affiliate commission does not determine editorial order. An Amazon link is activated only after its product identity and our Associate tag are configured. We explain commercial links near recommendations. We do not generate ratings, customer-review counts or current prices from assumptions.

Keeping articles useful

Before publishing or materially updating a recommendation, we recheck product identity and the supporting information. When the evidence changes, the affected conclusion should change too. Our current local library is awaiting final editorial review; named editorial and contact details will be completed before public launch.
